Utah, that bastion of progressivism and technology has once more solidified it’s place as a shining beacon of well reasoned legislation has now made bidding on trademarked terms illegal. Of course this issue has already been settled in the courts and this farce of a law will be struck down in short order (even money on Google getting the first injunction, 2:1 on MSN, 4:1 Yahoo and 10:1 on ASK). Eric Goldman has an excellent piece on this issue and I encourage you to visit.Good news…polygamy is still ok. Bidding on the term “Louis Vitton” not ok. I’m sure the lawyers are giddy with anticipation.
