“2.0 beers, please!”

MingleNow and Anheuser-Busch are jumping into the 2.0 space by promoting an “innovative new social networking promotion” where trend-setting adults can upload pictures of themselves enjoying beer. I love ideas like this ;sites that directly try tie positive consumer experiences with your product’ especially when your product is often tied to less than ideal news stories. 

I actually pitched a similar, but more aggressive idea, to a group including a large wine distributor and vineyards. My idea was to get a large community of wine lovers together to share their communal experiences while getting their input on building new wine brands. Unfortunately the idea of having more insight into wine drinkers than any other organization in the world didn’t sufficiently appeal to them.
