Do you Digg?

10 Apr

Chitika has published some numbers on ad click thru rates for Digg traffic vs. Google traffic. While they don’t differentiate between organic and paid search traffic from Google, the numbers probably confirm what’s been long suspected.

Digg traffic is far less likely to generate revenue. (emphasis and italics mine) Chitika numbers for both:

Google .97%

Digg    .30%  Well considering Google has spent considerable time, resources and money to serve up relevant ads, I can’t say I am particularly surprised. Of course getting Digg’d can result in a ton of new links which in turn can result in higher rankings and then more Google traffic….blah you know where I am going.
